How it started and where it's going.

In late June, I downloaded a pixel art app on my phone and began playing around with it. I created characters from the videogame I was currently playing in the style of an 8-bit demake. I've seen and played a few Gameboy demakes before and I thought it would be fun if there was a demake of Morrowind. I have no experience with game making, but for some reason I decided to try.

The first drawings I did. I would later find out they don't fit the 16x16 template for Gameboy and would need to he reworked.

I was inspired by other homebrew demakes, but I though with my beginner status I should pair down my scope. Maybe I could do a fun gag game like the excellent My Dinner With Andre by Gumpy Function.

Morrowind is a vast open-world with intricate stories, quests, and role-playing. It also contains dozens of short stories and lore-containing books. What if my game placed you in Jobasha's bookshop and the gameplay only consisted of reading in-game texts? Would that be funny? Would people get a kick out of that?

But first, you have to get to there, so wouldn’t it be cool to walk through Seyda Neen, the famous opening location of the main game?

Wouldn't it be funny to go through the whole character creation setup, only for none of the stats to matter? You could even pick from 10 races and 3 hairstyles, just for fun. The stats should reflect the actual calculations though, for authenticity...

This line of thinking kept going on and oretty soon I was developing a somewhat deep game. At least in my mind. I have yet to implement quests. Seyda Neen and the city Vivec still need to be fleshed out. I have plans to add other locations as well, through the Mages Guild transportation service. I also have ideas for a questline. And many more books for Jobasha's store!

For now, please enjoy creating your character and exploring what I have so far.
